Gutenberg & Jetpack

I’m excited to finally release the work my team has been hard at work on for the last few months in Jetpack 6.8. This release is special because we are introducing Jetpack blocks for the new editor.

Some of the blocks should be familiar to longtime Jetpack users and we’re even introducing a shiny new one for Jetpack users called the Simple payments button. It’s a block that makes accepting credit card payments as simple as it gets.

You will have access to these blocks right now if you’re using the Gutenberg beta plugin. They will also be available in WordPress 5.0 when it is released in the near future.

Building the blocks in this release was no small task and I will be posting a bit about why later on. The good news is, the biggest challenges in building blocks are behind us and we will continue to bring powerful integrations to WordPress’s amazing new editor.

I am super thankful for everyone who helped test, design, and build these blocks. I am also thankful for our support team over the next few weeks as they help out folks using these new blocks and pass along new ideas and bugs. ❤️

What would you like to see us build next?

We’re listening. 😃

This post was made with ❤️ using Gutenberg (the new editor).
